Google decided to close Google+ four months earlier because it discovered a new vulnerability that left 52 million users leaked

In the past November, when implementing its standard testing process, Google discovered Google+ social network with a leak that could leak data of 52.5 million users. However, this new error only survived within 6 days - from November 7 to November 13 because Google quickly repaired it.

Therefore, Google decided to close this social network in April 2019, four months earlier than originally planned for August 2019. In addition, the company also decided to close API access to this social network within 90 days.

According to Google, the vulnerability could leak personal information for developers, even though it has been set up in private mode. The leaked information includes name, email address, age, occupation.

This is the second time in two months, Google revealed about the flaw that leaked users' data on Google+. For the first time in October, the company admitted a Google+ vulnerability was discovered in March, causing 500,000 user accounts to leak.

Google said that the company has started sending notifications to users and business customers affected by this second vulnerability.
