Data of more than 20 million Taiwanese citizens leaked on the dark web

A few weeks ago, the cyber-intelligence firm Cyble unexpectedly discovered a database containing personal information from profiles to details of more than 20 million Taiwanese citizens being widely advertised on a dark web. This discovery almost immediately became the subject of much attention from not only the people of Taiwan but also the international security community. In particular, the most raised questions are mainly related to the origin of this data warehouse.
According to Cyble experts, the archive even includes data related to the Taiwan government. It was leaked online by a relatively reputable figure in the free hacker community with the nickname 'Toogod'.

The size of the database is 3.5GB - not too big, but it contains information including full name, detailed address, ID (identification number), gender, date of birth and some Other personal information.
Information on the archive
The 'Toogod' hacker claims this database exists since 2019. However Cyble researchers note that the last DOB record is from 2008. The database contains certain records with the DoB value is 'NULL / empty', so it is difficult to determine the specific time frame of the data warehouse.
The expert is still investigating the source of the data warehouse and will provide details as soon as possible.
