This is a really encouraging achievement, because Chrome is a very young browser, which has been in operation for only three years.

The statistics of eWeek magazine show that in May last year, Chrome users were 160 million, and in December 2010, this number was 120 million.

Previously, eWeek had a very accurate forecast when 'predicting' Chrome will reach 200 million users this October.

With such a rapid increase in users, Chrome is holding a global market share of 15%. In the UK, Google's browser surpassed Firefox to take second place, only behind Internet Explorer in popularity.

Meanwhile, if you examine the readers of Mashable, Chrome is the most popular browser.

According to experts, the news is signaling good things for Google's Chrome strategy, when the 'search giant' launches laptops running Chrome OS (Chromebook). Last June, the core of the Chrome OS cloud computing platform was Google's popular Chrome browser.
