Galaxy S20 Ultra disappointed in the camera review of DxOMark

After a long wait, DxOMark recently published a camera quality review for Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. However, this phone scored an unimpressive result, ranking in 6th place and far from Huawei P40 Pro - currently holding the throne in DxOMark's rankings.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra was first introduced in March and since then, the Korean tech giant has released quite a few firmware updates to improve camera performance. 

However, it seems that these efforts of Samsung can not make a difference when the camera of S20 Ultra is on par with Honor V30 Pro, and is far behind Huawei P40 Pro, Honor 30 Pro +, OPPO Find X2 Pro , Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro and Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G.

In any case, this is not a very negative result because the Galaxy S20 Ultra camera is still appreciated in some respects. In DxOMark's review, the phone scored an average of 122 points, including 132 photo points and 102 video points.

DxOMark experts appreciate the color reproduction, wide dynamic range and low noise on the Galaxy S20 Ultra camera. In addition, super wide-angle camera is also rated as quite good.

However, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has some issues with its ability to autofocus at short distances and in low-light environments, slower than its rivals. On the other hand, when shooting videos in low light conditions, the level of detail is also greatly reduced. 

In terms of sharpness, it proved to be somewhat inferior to Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro and other smartphone models. Moreover, the photos taken when zoomed up also appear fake image phenomenon. Therefore, if you are looking to buy a phone with the best camera in the $ 1400 price range, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is not really a reasonable choice.
