Facebook gives an example of a content they call Like-baiting.

News Feed is full of junk content that members of the members voluntarily click Like . However, in the end Facebook itself suffered criticism, so it decided to take drastic action to limit the situation.

" Owners of Facebook pages if they deliberately create junk content so the likes will see their page frequency appear on the News Feed plummeted in the next few months ," said the representative of the world's largest social network.

The goal of Facebook is to give users a News Feed with the content they want the most, so they don't miss out on the status or friends just because of the distracting junk images.
