Major versions of EasyBCD
- EasyBCD version 1.1 is 100% compatible with Windows Vista
- EasyBCD released on July 12, 2010 added the option to choose the installation directory;
- EasyBCD 2.1 was released in 2011 and this version is no longer free to use in a commercial environment, but remains free for non-profit and home use, with no limitations;
- EasyBCD 2.3 next introduced additional support for creating and managing UEFI-based Windows entries in the boot menu;
- Latest version EasyBCD 2.4 was released on 28 Nov 2018 with some new features: Add autocomplete for all path textboxes and verify destination of 'change segmentation' boot area' is not less than 75 MB.
Supported operating systems
EasyBCD supports the following operating systems.
- Windows versions: Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, etc…
- Linux: An open source family of Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux Kernel, first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds.
- BSD: An operating system based on Research Unix developed by Computer System Research Group. EasyBCD version 2.1.1 has a module designed to boot into a BSD-based operating system.
- Mac OS (Macintosh operating system): A type of operating system developed by Apple Inc. EasyBCD can chainload the Mac OS bootloader so that the computer can boot into Mac OS on another partition or physical drive.
Note: EasyBCD can boot Linux using one of the modes, namely Chainloading GRUB/GRUB2/LILO/etc. and NeoGrub.

A few notes
When you use this bootloader modifier, you should pay attention to the following points.
1. You should use the latest version in case it fails to boot because EasyBCD does not support your current operating system.
2. It is better to boot Windows 7 with EasyBCD 2.0 build 76 or higher versions.
3. Please install EasyBCD on a system with a newer operating system version. For example, if you need to boot Windows XP and Windows 7, you should install EasyBCD in Windows 7 and boot XP from there, otherwise it will make Windows XP unbootable.
