This is an alarming security degradation when Singapore's websites were ranked 67th last year. According to Straitstimes , the same position as Singapore is the site from Cameroon and China. This rating is based on the number of compromised computers and networks in the country.
Network security expert Aloysius Cheang said: ' This will reduce confidence and the possibility that Singapore can build a platform for e-commerce .' Mr. Cheang points out that Singapore's network is very deeply connected to the global network. Domain registration in Singapore usually takes only 5 minutes of transactions.
McAfee surveyed through 17,630 websites found that about 9% (1,607 websites) were marked as dangerous. In 2008, this figure was only 0.3%.
