Windows 7 XP Mode is useless with VAIO Laptop

Sony has just confirmed that VAIO laptops will not be able to operate in the Windows 7 operating system's XP Mode .

The laptop is equipped with Intel's Core 2 Duo processor that currently supports Intel's Virtual (VT) technology. This is a feature that is required for the device to be able to run XP Mode on Windows 7 operating systems. However, Sony has just acknowledged that the VAIO laptop has been disabled.

According to Xavier Lauwaert, senior manager of product marketing at Sony on Windows Partner blog, the company has received very few customer requests for VT technology until recently when Windows 7 is about to be released. However, engineers and quality inspectors are worried that if using VT technology for laptops, the risk of system attacks will be higher.
