The 'Descendant' of the ThinkPad X300 comes out

After the success of the ThinkPad X300, Lenovo continues to admit it with the new version - X200, also 'super thin', super light and multi-function no less than rival MacBook Air

After the success of the ThinkPad X300, Lenovo continues to admit victory with the new version - X200, also "super thin", super light and multi-function no less than rival MacBook Air of Apple.

Weighing only 2.95 pounds (1.34 kg), the ThinkPad X200 is on par with MacBook Air in lightness (MacBook Air weighs 3 pounds).

However, if users choose a 9-core battery instead of a 4-core battery of the basic configuration, the weight will increase to 3.58 pounds.

In exchange, the device will work continuously for 9 hours, Lenovo representative said.

The X200 comes with a 12.1-inch screen, with storage capacity or 64GB (if users choose a solid-state SSD) or 320GB (in case you choose a normal hard drive).

In addition, if you install an extra-thin optical drive, you can also enjoy high-definition Blu-ray movies.

The heart of the system is the Intel Core 2 Duo dual-core processor, clocked at 2.26-2.4 GHz.

The chip has 3 MB of cache, 4 GB DDR3 and is equipped with an integrated graphics chip. The X200 also comes with the latest Windows Vista operating system from Microsoft.

On the connection side, users will receive integrated Wi-Fi and mobile broadband.

By the end of this year, Lenovo will add UWB (Super Wide Bandwidth) and WiMax connectivity to X200. And yet, the device also supports GPS global positioning technology.

If using a 4-core battery pack, the X200 will be 29.5 x 21 x 2.07 cm in size, equivalent to the ThinkPad X300. Weighing in at 293 pounds, the thickest part of the X300 is only approximately 2 cm.

The starting price of X200 is 1199 USD and the product will land on the market in August.

This price only applies to the basic configuration, so of course if you choose more advanced options like SSDs, the price will also be up.

Anyway, compared to the price of over 2500 USD of the X300 or 1799 USD of the MacBook Air, the X200 is still an attractive choice for those who love ultra-thin, multi-function laptops.
