Lenovo launches 'supreme' ThinkPad X300

Lenovo has officially announced the long-awaited laptop - the thinnest and lightest ThinkPad X300 to date, and is a competitor to the MacBook Air (Apple).

Weighing only 1.3kg, the ThinkPad X300 is less than 3/4-inch thick (at its thinnest point), incorporating a 13.3-inch LED display, removable battery and integrated DVD burner. The X300 comes with WiMax, WLAN and GB Ethernet, as well as GPS navigation capabilities.

It is equipped with 64GB SDD solid-state hard drive, along with Intel's Centrino chip with vPro technology, and RAM of up to 4GB.

The ThinkPad X300 was announced just a month after Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, launched the ultra-light, ultra-light MacBook Air at the MacWorld Expo 2008. The Apple laptop has a 0.76-inch (thin point) most, nearly the same as Lenovo's products, but being criticized for lack of optical drive, and the battery is not replaceable, while only one USB port is quite inconvenient.

The starting price of the ThinkPad X300 is $ 2,799
