Samsung brings One UI to refrigerators and TVs

Samsung announced that its One UI branded user interface will gradually be deployed on the company's remaining technology products including refrigerators and smart TVs.

At the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 (SDC24), Samsung announced that the One UI branded user interface will gradually be deployed on the company's remaining technology products including refrigerators and smart TVs.

This will lead to a consistent ecosystem for the company's products, as its refrigerators have Family Hub, Samsung ovens use Smart Things, and Samsung smart TVs use the Tizen operating system. The operating systems of Samsung products have their own way of working, requiring their own coding and updates from Samsung.

With the desire to bring seamlessness in use, starting from 2025, Samsung will integrate One UI into other products. In particular, Samsung also emphasized that it will upgrade the operating system for up to seven years for mobile devices.

So since 2018 when One UI officially became the user interface for Android phones, by 2025, One UI will be used for the company's refrigerators and TVs, with a unified interface for easy use by users.
