Meaningful life lessons in the movie Wicked by Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo

'Wicked' has finally "set foot" in Vietnam. Wicked is considered an extremely good musical film with many meaningful lessons about life.

The entire film is a mesmerizing cinematic experience with stunning visuals, vibrant musical numbers, and a captivating story that recreates the land of Oz.

The two stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo also bring great depth to their characters as the Good Witch Glinda and the Wicked Witch of the West Elphaba.

To date, the musical boasts a near-perfect audience rating of 99% on the movie and TV review website Rotten Tomatoes' Popcornmeter. Professional critics have also given the film a 91% score on the Tomatometer.

But "Wicked " offers more than just an impressive cast, beloved songs, and breathtaking visuals. It's a treasure trove of great life lessons, hidden in the magical world of Oz.

 

It's okay to be different

Elphaba's blue skin and unique talents make her stand out, but despite the discrimination she faces, she eventually learns to embrace her individuality. Elphaba's journey is a wonderful reminder to all of us that our differences are what make us extraordinary.

Speaking of differences, Elphaba and Glinda's unlikely friendship is a great example of how accepting each other's quirks, while learning from them, helps us grow into better versions of ourselves.

Last but certainly not least, the iconic 'Defying Gravity' scene symbolizes moments that capture one's ability to overcome limitations and stereotypes.

The song includes the lines: ' I'm through accepting limits/ 'Cause someone says they're so/ Some things I cannot change/ But 'til I try, I'll never know,', encouraging viewers and listeners to overcome their fears and shyness, and courageously pursue their dreams towards true happiness.

'Wicked,' directed by Jon Chu, is the first installment in Universal's film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. The film follows Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West on their journey of self-discovery at Shiz University.
