The external design of the T500 is no more special than Lenovo's other ThinkPad laptops, but the internal configuration is strong.
Lenovo ThinkPad T500 has a square body, sturdy.
The ThinkPad T500 is one of Lenovo's latest business laptops. On the outside, this machine is no different from the same ThinkPad models. Still a black case with square edges, it gives a feeling of great peace of mind to users about the durability of the machine.
On the front edge, in addition to the sturdy screen lock latch, Lenovo also equips the ThinkPad T500 with an IEEE 1394 connection port, switch on / off wireless connectivity feature, headphone and microphone jacks and memory card reader.
Most connectors are located on the left side, including three adjacent USB ports, a VGA port, a DisplayPort port, a LAN network port and ExpressCard / 54 and PC-Card slots. Next to the right, the ThinkPad T500 is equipped with a DVD optical drive and a port connected to the modem. The battery charger jack for the device is arranged at the back edge.
Most connectors are on the left side of the device.
When I turned it on, the first impression was the keyboard and armrest of the ThinkPad T500, which was quite spacious, as it was equipped with a 15.4-inch widescreen display. The keyboard of the device is full of basic buttons and many additional keys printed in blue icon, to combine with Fn key to quickly perform some functions.
In addition to the usual numeric keypad, Lenovo's "attentive" retrofit for the T500 is an auxiliary number pad system located on the right side of the keyboard. Also, in the center, there is a red trackpoint cursor, used to complement the touchpad at the bottom.
Optical drive is located on the right side of the device.
Below the keyboard is the touchpad (touchpad), which is not large, but not too small, supports horizontal scrolling, vertical scrolling, with a full range of left and right mouse buttons. The sensitivity of the touchpad is quite high, not causing much trouble for users. Next to the touchpad is the fingerprint reader, which can be used to set the password for the device as well as for the internal application program.
Above, the two sides of the keyboard are where Lenovo speaker layout for the ThinkPad T500. Although the sound is quite clear, but compared to many other 15.4-inch laptops, the ThinkPad T500's speaker system is not as excellent. The volume is not large, does not turn up the bass of the drum. However, when wearing headphones, the sound quality is significantly improved.
On the edge of the screen is a built-in webcam and a small lamp that illuminates the keyboard during the night. Turning on / off the light is done via the Fn + PgUp key combination (in the top right corner of the keyboard). Although the light that this lamp emits is not large, it is enough to help users see the characters on the keyboard in the dark night.
The 15.4-inch screen of the machine has a very high display quality.
It is also necessary to say a little more about the very small but highly effective details for this machine. The first is the two large and thick hinge pieces, made from aluminum, which reinforces the certainty of T500. Along with that are the small holes under the keyboard, which acts as drainage ditches, protecting the hardware components inside the machine from the risks when users accidentally pour a cup of water keyboard surface.
As mentioned earlier, the configuration of this machine is quite high. The Lenovo ThinkPad T500 is built on Intel's latest Centrino 2 platform, with a 2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB RAM, a 160 GB hard drive. The device can meet most of the entertainment and work needs of users, such as playing online games, image processing, video editing . However, during the trial, sometimes the device is "frozen". "If users open multiple large photos at once in Photoshop 7.0 image editing software. In return, the machine works very smoothly, with a small amount of heat and noise emitted.
The ThinkPad T500's 15.4-inch screen has a resolution of up to 1,680 x 1,050 pixels, displaying very beautiful images. DVD movie discs have quite high image quality, with vivid colors, smooth. The T500's ability to catch Wi-Fi waves is also quite fast and stable. The device supports 802.11a / b / g / n Wi-Fi standards, Bluetooth 2.0, preinstalled with Windows Vista Business operating system. Like other Lenovo models, the ThinkPad T500 is also equipped with one-key system recovery (One-Key System Recovery) and ThinkVantage proactive management technology. The 6-cell battery pack of the device can operate continuously for more than 4 hours.
As planned, in November 2008, Lenovo ThinkPad T500 will be available in Vietnam market. The expected sale price of this product will be from 2,380 USD or more, depending on configuration.
