The Amazon site yesterday officially received pre-order ThinkPad X1 at a very competitive price of £ 1292 (equivalent to $ 2,120).
A slightly better price compared to the MacBook Air also has Apple's 13-inch size, but if you look at the X1's configuration, you might find it totally worth that price.
It uses the latest Intel 2.5GHz Core i5 250M chip, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, and an estimated 8 hours of battery life. Machine with 13.3 inch screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, from 16.5 to 21 mm thick.
