iPhone 17 Air information leaked, making fans feel both happy and sad

Apple is preparing to launch a new member in the iPhone line this year called iPhone 17 Air with a lot of expectations.

Rumors have focused on the iPhone 17 Air being impressively thin to compete with Samsung's ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge, but new information may dampen some of the excitement around the product.

A recently leaked CAD render of the entire iPhone 17 lineup shows that the main change is the new camera module design. All iPhone 17 models, except the standard iPhone 17, are equipped with a completely new camera module on the back.

Now, reliable leaker Ice Universe on Weibo says that both the iPhone 17 Air and 17 Pro Max have similar overall dimensions. Specifically, the camera bump on the iPhone 17 Air is 4mm thick, while the total thickness of the device is 9.5mm, including the camera bump. For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is 8.25mm thick without the camera bump.

The good news is that the information proving the thinness of the iPhone 17 Air will be very impressive. Due to the camera bump being 4mm thick, which is due to the large 48 MP single camera sensor, that means the iPhone 17 Air will be only 5.5mm thick instead of 6.25mm as previously rumored.

If the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air are the same size, the iPhone 17 Air's screen will likely be 6.55 inches. Additionally, Apple is also expected to switch to using in-house Wi-Fi chips for the new products.

While Ice Universe is one of the leakers who has been accurate in the past, it is important to understand that everything is still just a rumor and has not been confirmed by Apple.
