3. How to install Windows 10 from USB with UEFI support

If you plan to install a new copy of Windows 10, part of the process will involve creating a USB media to boot your device into setup wizard (setup wizard). However, if you have relatively new hardware, you are probably using Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), instead of the Basic Input / Output System (BIOS) firmware, in this case you must also ensure that Boot the firmware support you are using, before you proceed to install Windows 10 from USB.

If you plan to upgrade or install a new copy of Windows 10 on your system using UEFI, you can use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to create tools that are compatible with boot capabilities. Just insert the USB with at least 4GB of storage into your computer and then follow these steps:

1. Open the official website to download Media Creation Tool.

How to create USB boot Windows 10 with Rufus

Using the Media Creation Tool is the recommended method for creating USB boot. However, if this option does not work, you can download the Windows 10 ISO file differently or from another source and use the Rufus tool to create an installation media that supports UEFI. Simply connect a USB flash drive with at least 4GB capacity, and then follow these steps:

1. Open the official website of Rufus.

2. In "Download", click on the latest release of the tool.

3. Double-click the Rufus-xxexe file to launch the tool.

4. In "Device", select the USB drive with at least 4GB of storage.

5. In "Boot selection", click the Select button on the right.

6. Browse to the folder containing the ISO file for Windows 10 installation.

7. Select image.

8. Click the Open button .

9. In the "Image option", select the Standard Windows installation option .

10. Under " Partition scheme and target system type ", select the GPT option .

11. In "Target system", select the UEFI option (not CSM).

12. In "Volume label", enter a descriptive name for the drive. For example: " win10_boot_drive ".

13. In "File system" and "Cluster size", set the default settings.

15. Click the Start button .

16. Click the OK button to confirm that the USB will be deleted.
