Instructions for creating Cinematic wallpapers on Android

The new Android 14 updates the Cinematic wallpaper feature, turning still images into artistic cinematic effects for phone wallpapers. When using this Cinematic wallpaper mode on Android phones, the wallpaper will have more motion effects and much more artistic depth without the need for supporting applications. The article below will guide you to create Cinematic wallpapers on Android.

How to create Cinematic wallpapers on Android 14

Step 1:

First, users click on Settings to access the settings on the phone. Next we click on Wallpaper & style to adjust the wallpaper. To display the wallpaper for the phone, users click More wallpapers below.

Step 2:

Switch to the wallpaper selection interface for your phone. We click on My Photos to select a personal image in the photo album, or you can choose a background image available in the system.

Step 3:

After selecting the wallpaper, click on the effect icon on the right edge of the interface as shown below to create effects for the wallpaper. Now below the screen there will be a Create Cinematic wallpaper option for you to choose whether you want to use or not.

We slide the round button to the right to use the Cinematic effect for the wallpaper on Android phones.

 

Soon you will see the cinematic effect applied to the wallpaper. The subject of the wallpaper will remain still while the background will have more movement. Depending on what wallpaper you choose, the image processing process to apply Cinematic effects to Android wallpapers can take a relatively long time.

Step 4:

Finally, click Set wallpaper to install the Cinematic wallpaper for Android.

Note, currently the new feature is only deployed to Google Pixel devices, starting from Pixel 6 and above. If your Android device is not on the list, you can create a 3D Cinematic Google Photos image and set it as wallpaper.
