As a response to Samsung's newly launched Galaxy Fold, Chinese telecom carrier Huawei recently officially launched its first folding screen smartphone called Mate X at MWC 2019.
The flip-screen phone, when opened, will create an 8-inch screen tablet, with a 5G modem made by the manufacturer, so Huawei announced it is the world's first 5G folding screen phone.
Mate X uses foldable 8-inch OLED panels, 2480x2000px resolution, 8: 7 ratio.
After a couple of folds, the Mate X becomes a regular phone with two screens: a front screen measuring 6.6 inches, a ratio of 19.5: 9; The back screen will be 6.38 inches in size, the ratio of 25: 9 can be maximized, displaying the photo viewer to capture the camera or display as a phone.
The system of 3 vertically mounted cameras using Leica's sensor is placed on the handle on the right side of the device.
Specially designed hinges (made up of more than 100 components) make the machine fully foldable without leaving a gap. Huawei calls this hinge design with a beautiful name, the Falcon Wing.
Voice speakers, hinges, USB-C connectors are all designed on hinges, the rest of the device only contains a screen and battery, so Huawei Mate X can achieve a certain amount of thinness after folding (15mm ), slimmer than Galaxy Fold (17mm).
Huawei Mate X is also equipped with 2 independent batteries in the device, one tablet has a capacity of 4,500mAh, and the remaining tablet is not clear about the capacity.
In terms of configuration, Mate X is equipped with a Kirin 980 chip manufactured on Huawei's 7nm process, internal memory of 512GB and RAM of 8GB.
Mate X is priced at US $ 2,600 (about VND 60.4 million), which is better than Galaxy Fold due to its higher hardware parameters.
