Huawei Mate Xs: Folding screen, Kirin 990 5G
Huawei has just officially launched its second folding screen smartphone called Mate Xs at an live event on the Internet. This is considered an upgraded version of Mate X, launched last year with more powerful configuration and higher price.
Similar to MateX, when in Mate Xs extended mode, it still has an 8-inch OLED screen, a resolution of 2480 x 2000 pixels, an aspect ratio of 8: 7. After folding, the screen of the device is divided into two parts, the front screen is 6.6 inches with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, the rear screen is 6.38 inches and the aspect ratio is 25: 9.
Mate Xs chassis is made from liquid zirconium-based metal, 30% harder than titanium alloy.
It is equipped with a quad-camera cluster including: SuperSensing 40MP wide-angle RYYB camera, 8MP telephoto camera, 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor telephoto camera, and ToF camera. The Mate Xs has a high ISO support of up to 2048000, a 45x zoom capability with 3x optical and 30x digital wide-angle, enabling macro photography within 2.5cmm, OIS optical stabilization and AIS.
In terms of configuration, Huawei Mate Xs is equipped with Kirin 990 5G processor, with a 23% increase in CPU performance, 39% increase in GPU performance and a 460% increase in NPU. The new chipset also saves more power than the previous generation. The Mate Xs has 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory. According to Huawei, the Mate Xs supports more 5G bands than the Galaxy Fold 5G and faster data transfer speeds.
The battery of the machine has a capacity of 4500mAh, for up to 7.5 hours of use, 21% longer than Huawei Mate X 5G (6.4 hours) and Galaxy Fold 5G (6.2 hours). The battery of the device supports SuperCharge fast charging with a maximum capacity of up to 55W, allowing charging from 0% to 85% after only 30 minutes, this speed is about 2.3 times faster than the Galaxy Fold 5G.
Mate Xs is expected to be sold worldwide from next month with a retail price of 2499Euro
