Accordingly, HP China will have to replace free batteries used on HP Pavilion, Compaq Presario and HP Compaq series laptops. These are products produced in the period from the end of 2007 to the beginning of 2008 and have been found to be able to generate large heat resulting in fire and explosion in some special conditions.

HP's representatives in China and the world have not yet commented on this. This is the second time HP has been forced to recall a large amount of laptop batteries this month.
