Galaxy S9 may be the first flagship Android phone of 2018, but not necessarily the best

Samsung also has its own fast charging technology and we can only hope it will be Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0+.

When Qualcomm revealed the new generation Snapdragon processor 845 a few days ago, we knew that SoC on the next generation of Android and Windows 10 devices will have faster charging speeds than before.

But now, we wonder whether the Galaxy S9 has that feature or not when Samsung equips its flagship devices Qualcomm and Samsung chips, meaning that it cannot share battery charging technology together. There are reports that the Galaxy S9 does not support Quick Charge 4.0+, rather than Snapdragon 845.

This news comes from Weibo, a source of news leaks called Ice Universe that says he found out that the Galaxy S9 will not have Quick Charge 4.0+.

There has been no official news but hope Galaxy S9 will not charge slowly

Obviously, Samsung doesn't want to pay licensing fees for Qualcomm's technology. Not surprisingly, Samsung sided with Apple against Qualcomm because of the "royal price" offered by the company for mobile modems.

Of course, at this point, there is still no certainty. But we will soon know what charger technology Galaxy S9 uses. There was no formal dispute between Samsung and Qualcomm, in addition to Samsung siding with Apple in the lawsuit with Apple 's Qualcomm.

Samsung also has its own fast charging technology and we can only hope it will be Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0+. If not, Samsung's best phone in 2018 will suffer from slower charging than other Android Snapdragon 845 phones.
