Difference between Windows 10 and Windows 11

The difference between Windows 10 and Windows 11. Windows 11 is said to be a 'breakthrough' when they have too many differences compared to their predecessors Windows 10.

But there are also people who think that too much customization from Windows 10 makes Windows 11 like a 'hybrid' and loses its inherent characteristics.

1. Interface difference

The interface of the operating system is always on top, and Windows 11 is doing the same. Perhaps in this design, Microsoft has learned a lot from different operating systems to bring a completely new interface and somewhat similar to the rival MacOS in the market. If Windows 10 mainly uses squares to display windows, applications, etc., Windows 11 will use rounded corners to create softness. Besides, Windows 10 colors are not very eye-catching, but Windows 11 has created a lot of different color sets on the interface to give users the best custom interface.

One of the big differences is the Taskbar, if previously Windows 10 skewed the Taskbar to the left, now they have centered like MacOS. The design of the taskbar in the middle of the screen is also a highlight and this is also controversial. Specifically, there was a large community group that sent an application to Microsoft and asked them to leave the Taskbar on Windows 11 on the left side of the screen like Windows 10.

2. Difference in Gaming Performance

Many people think that performance is not affected by the operating system but this is a wrong view. An operating system version will more or less impact performance, and so does Windows 11. It was a surprise when Microsoft said that 'Windows 11 will be Microsoft's best gaming operating system'. Thus, the group of customers that Windows 11 targets are gamers, those who play games or plow games.

In addition to Gaming performance, Microsoft has equipped many features on Windows 11 to enhance the experience. New features on Windows 11 specifically as follows:

  1. Auto HDR: Automatically switch the SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) graphics of the game to the HDR bar to improve display quality, lighting, depth.
  2. Direct Storage: This technology will use APIs to access game data directly on the SSD via RAM and bring them directly to the GPU. This feature will fully exploit the high speed of the SSD, shortening the time to load games, launch games, load maps, etc
  3. Xbox Game Pass x XCloud: Online game rental service on the store and cloud gaming service (no need for strong configuration) will also be the mainstream product of Windows 11.

All of these new technologies will require GPU hardware that supports DirectX 12 and a PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD with Direct Storage technology.

3. Difference in features

Feature is one of the important things on the operating system and Windows 11 is trying to improve this. Many people think that Windows 11 is just a new shirt for Windows 10 because just changing the interface is completely wrong. A representative of Microsoft also said that they are focusing on improving the features, from basic to advanced so that users are most comfortable.

One of the first features mentioned is multitasking, Microsoft is actively changing the multitasking interface to make it faster and more convenient for users to use during work.

However, other changes in features, we will still have to wait for the official version of Windows 11 to fully experience it.

4. Difference in utility

Microsoft's utility system is being deployed strongly, specifically Microsoft Teams is being released quickly. For Windows 11, they will pre-install a lot of utilities developed by Microsoft. In fact, this is not too much of an impact, few people in Vietnam use all of Microsoft's utility applications, even Cortana virtual assistant is forgotten in Vietnam. If Microsoft pre-installed for users Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc., it would be much better for Vietnamese people.

5. Not supported for Mac computers

Mac computers will officially say goodbye to Windows 11 at this time, Microsoft said that Mac computers will not support Windows 11 'officially'. As such, users of Apple products will have to continue to live with the version of Windows 10 and not experience the latest Windows 11. However, hopefully in the future there will be some different ways for Mac users to still be able to install Windows 11 alongside Apple's traditional MacOS.
