Dell 'cheat' hard drive capacity?

Some customers said they were fooled by Dell when buying Inspiron Mini 9 netbooks with a 4 GB hard drive instead of 16 GB.

Last September, Dell launched two versions of the Inspiron Mini 9 netbook, nicknamed the "Eee PC Killer" with 8GB SSD and 16GB hard drives. But when buying some customers found that they only have Ubuntu operating system with 4 GB hard drive (lack of 12GB compared to the announced parameters of the company) and many people have complained, even threatened to sue Dell for fraud.

In fact, this is just a Dell technical flaw when they split hard drive partitions to install the operating system. Just check the BIOS parameters quickly and see that the hard drive of these machines is still 16GB as usual. Dell has publicly released this lack of capacity on their website and advises customers that if they encounter a similar situation, they can use the DVD recovery disc to restore the correct capacity.
