3 steps to add downloaded mp3 files to iTunes

Download the MP3 file
Make sure you know the location, where the downloaded file is stored. On Mac, downloaded files are usually saved in the Downloads folder or on the Desktop screen. On Windows, usually saved on the Desktop screen.
If the downloaded files cannot be found, you can use your computer's search engine to find the location of those files.
Launch iTunes
After opening iTunes, find the MP3 file you want to add to iTunes and drag the file to the open iTunes window. Depending on the version of iTunes you are using, some items on iTunes will vary slightly.
- On iTunes 10 version and before that, the MP3 file will have a plus sign next to it so you can see that the MP3 file is being added.
- On iTunes 11 and higher versions, in the Song view section you will see the same plus sign.
- On iTunes 11 and above, other viewing items do not appear plus; instead, a dark blue icon appears on the sides outside the iTunes window.
iTunes handles the files
iTunes will process the files (in the top corner of the iTunes window, you will see a progress bar for importing files) and automatically sorting by name, artist, album, .
Now that your song will be added to the iTunes library, you can listen to or sync the song to your iPhone or iPad.
