VND 100 billion for high-tech crime prevention

At a press conference about the Conference - National Security Security Exhibition on January 14, Major General Nguyen Viet The, Director of the Department of Information Technology (under the Ministry of Public Security), said the agency was entitled Investing more than VND 100 billion to enhance the potential of high-tech crime prevention.

Citing the WikiLeaks case, Mr. The said that global information security is currently very hot, can change the world. And, the risk of cyberattacks is always lurking. Typically, some companies and websites have been attacked in the past while expressing their disapproval of WikiLeaks.

Mr. Vu Quoc Khanh, Director of the Vietnam Computer Emergency Rescue Center (VNCERT) also said that the current situation of cyber attacks is very diverse, but the most complex and difficult attack to rescue is an internal attack, but the search for the culprit is more advantageous.

Responding to the incident surrounding VietnamNet being attacked, Mr. Vu Quoc Khanh said, hackers attacked websites many times and many different methods. However, when being attacked for the first time, VieNamNet was slow to report to the relevant units.

VNCERT representative also said that this is a strong warning for Vietnamese websites. Besides, he also recommends when being attacked, the owner of the website should report quickly to the authorities to be rescued and limited.

National Seminar on security and exhibition held by Department of Information Technology (Ministry of Public Security), Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Center (VNCERT) and International Data Group (IDG) will take place in Hanoi on April 5-6.

With the theme 'Ensuring the organization's information security in a connected world,' the workshop will focus on introducing security solutions with high efficiency and reasonable investment.

In addition, there will be talks and discussions about predicting information security trends, communication security, information and equipment for mobile security .

On the sidelines of the workshop, there will be exhibitions of booths displaying the most advanced software, equipment and solutions on virus prevention, data management, web application security .
