The Dynabook SS RX1's design is relatively eye-catching with a thickness of only about 2cm and a magnesium-silver finish. Through this design, it is easy to see that Toshiba's new product also targets the consumer market similar to the MacBook Air.

In terms of specifications, Toshiba Dynabook SS RX1 is equipped with Intel Core 2 Cuo U7500 1.06GHz processor with energy saving, 1GB RAM, Intel 945GMS chipset integrated graphics, 12.1-inch WXGA widescreen display (1280 x 800), security by fingerprint. The product has three versions using 3 different types of storage devices, including the version using 80GB hard drive / DVD recorder, version 80GB hard drive / HD DVD drive and SSD / DVD burner version .

Notably, Dynabook SS RX1 is equipped with special protection technology from Toshiba to ensure that the device can still operate completely after being dropped from a height of about 1 meter to the ground. The keyboard is also designed according to the waterproof mechanism. Whether the user has poured any liquid or coffee on the keyboard surface, the laptop is still unresponsive.
