At the top of this list is Samsung, with total shipments in the second quarter of this year amounting to 71.6 million. Huawei, with total shipments in the second quarter of 2018, reached 54.2 million, surpassing Apple (shipped 41.3 million units) to become the world's second largest smartphone manufacturer.

Notably, HMD, although only started selling Nokia brand phones for less than 2 years, has reached this list and stood at 9th place.
