Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated and Huawei, has announced the successful testing of interoperability and development (IODT) 5G NR based on global standards 3GPP Release 15. This is an important milestone in mature process of ecosystem Release 15 5G NR.
IODT is the foundation to ensure compatibility between UE, RAN and core network. The experiment, using UE prototype (Qualcomm Technologies) and Huawei's commercial 5G system.
The two companies have jointly verified and validated major 3GPP 5G NR technologies, including synchronization, channel coding, frame structure and scalable OFDM digital components. Synchronization, control and data channels between 5G NR UE and network operating on the 3.5 GHz band are also tested in this test.
From February 26 to March 1, Qualcomm Technologies will demonstrate 5G NR's interactive capabilities at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
