Intel, Qualcomm and Broadcom both cut chip supply contracts for Huawei
Shortly after Google announced the future withdrawal of Android licenses for Huawei devices, Chinese technology firms continued to receive new bad news when well-known chip designers and vendors in the US were Intel, Qualcomm. and Broadcom also announced to cut off contracts with Huawei today.
According to Bloomberg sources, these three chip makers have informed their employees that they will freeze supply agreements with Huawei until further notice.
Currently, Broadcom and Qualcomm are components suppliers to manufacture modems and some chips, while Intel provides processors for Huawei computers.
In fact, Huawei was able to produce its own mobile chips and smartphone modems, so Broadcom and Qualcomm's role was less important to the company than Intel.
Bloomberg also said that Huawei has stockpiled chips from US manufacturers to prevent this situation. The amount of chips that the reserve company can use for at least 3 months, enough time for Huawei to determine whether the US government has any changes and hopes the ban will be lifted.
Huawei has revealed that it is developing its own operating system to replace Android and Windows.
Currently, Microsoft has not made any move about whether they will stop providing Windows for Huawei laptops. But this is entirely possible if Microsoft is required by the US government.
Huawei is currently the world's second largest smartphone company in terms of sales of one of the world's largest telecommunications equipment providers. However, the uninterrupted cooperation by US technology firms will make Chinese technology firm into crisis.
