Sony said it is recalling 440,000 Vaio laptops around the world because a wire hole could lead to overheating.

According to US news agency AP today, Sony said the recall involved 19 models in the Vaio TZ series manufactured between May 2007 and July 2008, including three export models.

This consumer electronics company based in Tokyo (Japan) said the wires were placed improperly near the hinge connecting the body of the laptop and the display could be worn quickly leading to short circuits and too hot.

Sony has been quoted by AP as saying it has received notifications of overheating, including some cases where users claim there are no serious burns.

According to PC World Magazine, in the US, Sony is recalling 73,000 Sony Vaio TZ series laptops with the same wiring error as the AP mentioned above. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) received 15 consumer complaints about their laptops too hot, in which one said their notebook caused minor burns.

USCPSC today issued a warning urging consumers to stop using revoked machines 'immediately and contact Sony to decide whether their notebook is affected,' PC World quoted. guide.

According to Sony, overheating models are VAIO VGN-TZ100 series, VGN-TZ200 series, VGN-TZ300 series and VGN-TZ2000 series.
