Also introduced with Sony's first 3D glasses laptop, there are new models using the latest Sandy Bridge processor from Intel - Vaio S and Vaio C series. Vaio F is Sony's flagship model in this "out-of-band" operation with full-HD screen resolution and use of shutter glasses (active shutter). The common point between these new generation laptops is that they are equipped with USB 3.0 standard, the transmission speed is 10 times faster than USB 2.0. The first Sandy Bridge laptops from Sony will be offered in Asia from the end of March.

As a high-end entertainment laptop, Vaio F owns a 16-inch screen, achieving full-HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080). Sony's first 3D laptop supports dedicated glasses, so it will surely make many users frustrated by the bulky, entangled . Vaio F is equipped with Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics chipset. This laptop can convert standard 2D video to 3D images.

The Vaio C series comes with 14-inch and 15-inch versions, however, the variety of sizes is not the main factor that helps Sony outsell its products. According to manufacturers from Japan, the body and palm rest of this new laptop series is made of unique glowing material, which helps users work easily in the dark.

Vaio C can automatically switch between integrated Sandy Bridge chip and removable MD Mobility Radeon HD6630M chip when needed.

Targeted at business users and students, the 13.3-inch laptop comes pre-loaded with an integrated chip, AMD Mobility Radeon HD6470. However, unlike Vaio C, Vaio S series has a dedicated converter, allowing users to choose between different types of graphics cards, no need to reboot the machine.

The Vaio S is designed from magnesium and aluminum alloy in hand rests so it will definitely be durable. It offers up to 6 hours of battery life and can last up to 12 hours if using an external battery.
