Next year will allow white hat hackers to attack Vietnam's No. 1 safety systems

At the award ceremony of the 2015 Whitehat Grand Prix, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said that starting from 2019, the Ministry of Information and Communications will select some of Vietnam's No. 1 safety systems for white hat hackers to attack. .

According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, our prosperity depends heavily on the Internet but the Internet is not safe. The world is currently in a cyber war with about 10,000 network attacks per minute. And the team of white-hat hackers are warriors who protect peace on cyberspace, helping each country to prosper. So we need to maintain this militant force.

2018 is the first year of the final round of the WhiteHat Grand Prix - the annual network security competition organized by the Vietnam Information Security Department and the WhiteHat.vn forum, held offline in Hanoi. The theme of this year's competition is 'Vietnamese legend' with 3 sections including: IoT Security (IoT security), Attack Defense (anti-attack) and AI Application programming.

This is a great competition and a quality team, there are many names among the top 10 teams in the top 10 ranked by CTFtime rankings: dcua, p4team and LC1BC.

But Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said the way to play needs to change. Instead of a person giving the team a chance to take the test, it is possible for white hat hackers to attack the real system, possibly the number one security system in Vietnam. And this test may start next year.

At the 2018 WhiteHat Grand Prix, the LC1BC team from Russia won the first prize with a prize of USD 10,000. CoconutCoffe (South Korea) and p4team (Poland) ranked second and third respectively.
