Kenshi: A guide to building and repairing houses
Kenshi: Guide to building and repairing houses, Instructions on how to buy and build houses in Kenshi, help players establish a safe base to survive in Kenshi game
Kenshi takes players into an open, post-apocalyptic world without a linear story. This freedom means there's a lot to do with this extreme survival sandbox game. Depending on how they get started, players can quickly find themselves in need of a safe haven.
Gamers must purchase or build some shelter to relieve the stress of making Kenshi's steampunk world their new home. In the town, the player has the option of buying buildings to fulfill this need or building their own base.
In this article, let's learn how to buy and build houses in Kenshi, helping players establish a safe base to survive in the game's harsh environment.
How to buy a house in Kenshi
As long as the player has the in-game currency Cat, buying a house is the easiest option for a quick shelter. The first step in this process is to make sure that there are homes available for purchase in the first place.
Left-clicking on a structure will display that building's information in the lower left corner of the screen. It will include information on whether the space is public, for sale, and if so, the price required to purchase it.
If there is enough money to buy the building, people can click the button in the bottom left box and confirm it in the middle of the screen. With this operation, the money will be deducted and the house will be owned by the player for repair and use. Kenshi is a brutal survival game, so the logical place to start with a base is a protected location, for example a town.
Building houses in Kenshi
Building a house in Kenshi requires the player to travel far outside a town. First, bring up the building menu by clicking the button at the bottom right of the screen. This will bring up the building options in the bottom left part of the screen.
A small shack will suffice as a home for a beginner player and choosing it will bring out the silhouette of the building. Blue indicates a possible location but too close to town, while the green shade represents a reasonable housing space.
Unlike just buying a structure, building a house is much less expensive but requires materials. A small shack costs 5 building materials, can be purchased at local stores for about 108 Cat each.
Since Kenshi is one of the longest running open world games out there, finding a shelter is bound to become a necessity. Building a shelter is a cheaper option, but adds more danger as it puts the player outside the NPC's protection range.
