How to pin a Chrome user profile to the Taskbar
To launch a specific Chrome user profile from the taskbar, you need to pin that particular Chrome profile to the taskbar. Here is how to do it.
Note : The steps below can also be performed in Windows 8 and 7. Just make sure you're using Chrome 70 and above.
Steps to pin a Chrome profile to the taskbar
To pin a Chrome profile to the taskbar, you first need to create a shortcut for that profile. In older versions of Chrome, you had to manually change the shortcut properties and add a profile name. However, in recent versions, you don't have to do that.
1. First, open up your Chrome browser if you haven't already done so.
2. Make sure you are in the profile you want to pin. If you are in the target profile, skip this step. If not, click on the "Profile" icon that appears next to the address bar and select your profile.
3. The above action will launch the Chrome browser in the profile of your choice. Here, type "chrome: // settings / manageProfile" in the address bar and press Enter
.
4. On the Edit person page, change the Show desktop shortcut to the On position .
5. As soon as you do that, you'll see a Chrome shortcut dedicated to the profile on the desktop.
6. Now, simply drag and drop the shortcut to the taskbar to pin the Chrome profile. After pinning, you will see the profile icon.
You have successfully pinned the Chrome profile to the taskbar. Whenever you launch Chrome with the pinned shortcut, it will run in the corresponding profile.
