1. When things don't go your way, don't panic. Be flexible with your plans. We all know the image of Macaulay Culkin being surprised by his situation when he is left alone, but it's only a brief moment in the movie. After his initial surprise, Kevin changes his plans.
2. Don't wallow in self-pity. Keep moving forward. Kevin sees the bright side and makes the most of his situation. He's happy doing so.
3. Be resourceful and creative. Use what you know. In both movies, Kevin uses objects and situations to his advantage. Yes, movie magic ensures he has what he needs, but the lesson of being creative in using them is great.
