Delete Horizontal Lines in Text on Microsoft Word

The horizontal line is actually not a line, it is a border. You might wonder which object this border applies because you don't see any tables or text boxes in the GIF above. The answer is that this special border applies to the text above it. In Microsoft Word, paragraphs can have their own borders.

To delete the horizontal line, very simply, you place the cursor directly above it.

From the Home tab, navigate to the Paragraph tool group. Next, go to the Borders button , and press the down arrow next to it. In the drop-down menu, select the No Border option and the horizontal line will immediately disappear.

The extensive features of Microsoft Word can sometimes surprise users, even if they are the most proficient users.

In fact, for most people, the text border function is unnecessary. Users have many different ways to create text borders such as tables, text boxes, etc. because these are easier to perform and give better control.
