Corel Draw 12: Draw a square ornament

In this exercise, we will show you how to draw and decorate the square using some drawing tools for the Rectangle Tool, the Ellipse Tool and some commands.

In this exercise we use the drawing tool for the Rectangle Tool, the Ellipse Tool and some of the following commands:

- Tranfrom - Position : change the object to an exact position on the screen.

- Align and Distribute : used to compare objects.

- Trim : Create a third object from two intersecting objects.

- Combine (Ctrl + L) : link object, the intersection of objects will be created by empty areas.

- Break Curve Apart (Ctrl + K) : return a group of objects exiting the Combine command.

- Intersect : Creates the third object, the intersection of two objects.

- Fill Tool : coloring tool.

- Outline Tool : contour tool.

Colouration:

- Select the rectangle tool , draw a square of 10 cm by pressing Ctrl + left click and cross-drag.

- On the properties bar in the Object box (s) Size, type 10 cm, in the Nonproportional Scaling / Sizing box, select the lock icon (locked).

- Select Object - Transformations - Position : in Relative Position choose the center in the middle and click Apply To Duplicate tab to add a second square right in the first image.

- Select the circle drawing tool ( Ellipse Tool ) draw a circle with a diameter of 10 cm.

- After drawing the circle, select the circle and the square.

- Select Object - Align and Distribute :

+ Align Centers Horizontally
+ Align Centers Vertically

- Select Object - Transformation - Position :

+ Position : H: 5 cm; V: 5 cm
+ Click Apply tab (Figure 1, 2).

- Select Object - Transformations - Position :

+ Relative Position : in turn choose the middle cell of the left edge, the middle cell of the bottom and the middle cell of the right edge
+ Click Apply To Duplicate tab (Figure 3).

- Select 4 circles and 1 square.

- Select Object - Shaping - Trim (Figure 4).

- Select 4 circles in turn to reduce the diameter to 9 cm (Figure 5).

- Select 4 circles.

- Select Object - Transformations - Position :

+ Relative Position: select the box in the middle
+ Click Apply To Duplicate tab.

- Choose 4 circles to make the diameter drop to 7 cm.

- Just select a large circle and a small circle with the same center, press Ctrl + L. We have 1 scarf.

- Similarly with 3 pairs of circles, we can add 3 towel rings (Figure 6).

- Choose each scarf and the first drawn square one after another.

- Select Object - Shaping - Intersect : we get 4 objects that are intersection of 4 rings and 1 square.

- Select 4 scarf shapes and press Delete (Figure 7).

- Choose a square and some objects you like.

- Select the Outline Tool - Outline Pen select Line line of any object you want.

- Select the objects and fill them as you like, the results are shown in Figure 8.
