Reportedly, Dell's 2013 orders for Compal include most of the business computer models, while consumer notebooks are shared between both Compal and Wistron.

Meanwhile, the ODM manufacturing partner for Dell this year is Quanta Computer, which has not won any notebook orders from the US computer company for the following year.

Dell's ambitious goal in 2013 was to ship 30 million notebooks, after it forecast notebook shipments this year to reach 20-23 million units.

Dell's fellow competitor, HP, will make the decision to order ODM production in 2013 around the end of July, and it is expected that Quanta will win about 40-45% of HP's orders. Wistron left and Inventec can split each other by 20% of the total orders.
