The top 10 most malicious programs in August did not have a new "member" but received a deep return to Mytob.E, which appeared on the list in May 2005.
71.8% of 1,998 new threats are Trojans, bringing the total number of malicious software that Sophos recorded so far to 186,665.
"Netsky.P is still leading, although it has been discovered more than two years ago.
