From October 30, 2018, iPhone 5 was officially listed on Apple's outdated product list and will not receive repair support from the company.

Apple products will still receive hardware and repair support from the company at least a year after stopping production. After that time, the product will be converted to 'obsolete' or 'classic'.

In California and Turkey, Apple supports a limited number of products in two years after they are considered 'outdated' elsewhere. So only in these two places does exist the difference between 'obsolete' (obsolete) and 'Vintage' (classic).

However, the rules in Turkey apply not to iPhone but only to iPad and Mac. So, all iPhone 5 is considered 'obsolete' (obsolete) but in US iPhone 5 is considered a 'vintage' to follow California state regulations.
