Before that, at 18:00 on the afternoon of December 20, 2013, AAG cable line - Vung Tau - Hong Kong segment was broken. The intermittent location is about 278 km away from Vung Tau shore station. This incident caused the traffic of telecommunication service providers in Vietnam operating on this route to be affected, including FPT Telecom.
Upon the occurrence of the incident, FPT Telecom has used the mainland cable route to forward the suspended AAG traffic to minimize the impact on users. FPT Telecom recommends that customers should use international Internet for their important services, other services should shift to domestic directions to optimize transmission capacity.
In recent years, FPT Telecom has continuously expanded international bandwidth to increase the usage capacity for customers and limit the impact when one of the international connection directions fails. FPT Telecom is hastily coordinating closely with the operator of AAG submarine cable to update information to customers and fully restore communications as soon as the cable route is repaired.
