APG fiber optic cable is having trouble, international traffic is reduced by 50%.
According to information from a network, the APG sea cable has a problem at Chongming / APG / China shore station. This seriously affects the international Internet connection speed of operators exploiting the traffic on this cable, causing international traffic to drop by 50%.
According to the latest information, this troubleshooting time depends on weather conditions, but it is expected to take about 2 to 3 weeks.
APG (Asia Pacific Gateway) has a total length of about 10,400 km, which is the largest traffic fiber optic cable in operation in Asia with maximum bandwidth of 54 Tbps. APG is expected to completely replace the AAG cable route - often in trouble in recent years. APG has encountered the most recent trouble in the past 2/2018.
