Security experts are now warning users of a new trojan hidden in Microsoft Word files that are spreading widely through a spam campaign.

The Kukudro-A trojan often falsely provides information about laptop products from companies such as Apple, HP and Sony to trick users into opening Microsoft Word files, enabling them to infect the system. .

When the Word file is opened, there will be another Kuku-A trojan installed on the user's system, allowing remote hackers to gain access to the infected system.

Emails sent in this new spam campaign often have the title "worth to see" (worth reading), "prices" (price), and "Hello" (hello).

The trojan spreads through the latest spam campaign currently leading in Sophos security monitoring reports.

The attached files are usually zip files with lots of different names like prices.zip , apple_prices.zip or sony_prices.zip . These zip files contain a malicious Word file named my_Notebook.doc .

It is reported that the new Trojan creator is also the author of the Sality computer worm, which is able to record keyboard operations (keylogg) to steal user information.

" Users are often curious why they receive emails that contain attachments and often open those files. But it's a completely wrong way of doing things ," said Graham Cluley, consultant. High-end technology of Sophos security firm, warning. " This new malware is currently very powerful in its attempt to break into users ' PC systems ."

" This trojan will download more malicious code on the Internet about the infected system and allow hackers to gain access to the system and cause significant damage ," warned Cluley.
