There are many malicious code targeting eBay

EBay users are suffering from an attack from an extremely dangerous Trojan. Security firm Symantec said within a week Trojan.Bayrob has modified up to 3 times to avoid detection and destruction.

Symantec said it was possible that Trojan.Bayrob could remain connected to servers that were hijacked by hackers so it could be updated in real time. Continuously 'multiply' new variants.

After infecting the Trojan.Bayrob system, it often downloads fake website and eBay content websites. Its ultimate goal is to trick users into buying and selling on these fake websites so they can steal their financial information.

Trojan.Bayrob is distributed mainly through email. Emails that contain them often fake content that responds to users asking for something to auction on eBay and include a fake photo. If users open these files to Trojan.Bayrob will immediately break into their PC.

They will first analyze the user's IP address to identify where they live. Scammers will send emails advising people who use items too far away to get them directly. Instead they will go to fake eBay websites and ask them to provide purchase payment information.

EBay's information security manager Dave Cullinane said the company will now deploy a new set of security solutions to combat online fraud. In addition, the company will shake hands with other technology companies in the field of security, increasing customer protection measures.

On the user side, security experts recommend not opening unsolicited emails and regularly updating security software.
