2018 will have the second generation iPhone SE

Apple is planning to launch the iPhone SE 2 generation for the mid-range smartphone market.

Apple is planning to launch the iPhone SE 2 generation for the mid-range smartphone market.

That is the result of a recent report predicting the global mobile market in 2018 to market research firm TrendForce.

The first iPhone SE was released in the spring of 2016 and since then there have been no updates. Therefore, it is still unclear how Apple plans with this product line. But besides TrendForce, Economic Daily News also predicts a 4-inch device is in production.

The new iPhone SE can be launched in the first half of 2018, assembled by Wistron supplier at a factory in Banglore, India. The unknown SE parameters are unknown but the old version has the same parameters as iPhone 6S, A9 chip, 2GB RAM and 12mp rear camera.

Besides iPhone SE, TrendForce also said that high-end iPhone models in 2018 will have more accurate Face ID, more memory and use AMOLED screens. According to previous rumors, this will be the second generation of iPhone X, with a 5.8 inch OLED screen and an iPhone 6.5 Plus 6.5, along with an iPhone with a 6.1-inch LCD screen.

TrendForce predicts in the first half of 2018, most phones still use fingerprint sensors because manufacturers cannot keep up with Apple. But half a year later will have the first smartphone using fingerprint sensor technology under the screen.
