Apple began manufacturing 7nm A12 processors for iPhone 2018

Bloomberg reported that Apple vendor TSMC has begun mass-producing processors for this year's new iPhone series.

Predicting the name A12, the new chip will likely be the first chips to use the 7-nanometer process, the technology that many firms are targeting.

7nm technology brings more transistors on each chip, although the number of details may vary between manufacturers. The smaller the process, the smaller the chip, the faster, more efficient and more time-consuming, the more cost-effective. Microprocessors are currently leading the mobile market such as Apple's A11 Bionic or Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 only using the 10nm process.

Samsung also announced that it is ready to produce 7nm chips next year. They had previously produced chips for iPhones, then co-produced with TSMC A9 chips for iPhone 6S, but since then TSMC has become an exclusive partner of Apple.

Apple is preparing to produce more modern chips

Many people expect Apple to launch three new iPhone models this fall: including an iPhone X update, a larger Plus version and a cheap 6.1-inch LCD screen.
