Assignment

Bamboo is a close friend, a family member, an arm of the farmer, a confidant of all ages. Bamboo is also "our comrade in arms" in the resistance war. "Bamboo grows straight", "bamboo is still straight even when burned" is the posture of bamboo. And that is also the "unyielding" posture of the Vietnamese people. Bamboo sticks and bamboo spikes are our very powerful weapons in fighting the enemy, creating the heroic feats and traditions of the nation. Thep Moi has applied the antithesis in ancient prose very creatively:

"In the beginning, without a single piece of iron in hand, bamboo was everything, bamboo was a weapon. Wanting to be eternally grateful to the bamboo stick that built the Fatherland's Bronze Citadel and live an indomitable life with the bamboo stake". In the following passage, bamboo is personified with the spirit of a farmer wearing a soldier's uniform, a volunteer soldier determined to die for the Fatherland, a heroic and majestic warrior:

"Bamboo sticks and bamboo spikes fight against the enemy's steel. Bamboo charges into tanks and cannons. Bamboo protects villages, protects the country, protects thatched roofs, and protects ripe rice fields. Bamboo sacrifices itself to protect people. Bamboo is a hero of labor! Bamboo is a hero of combat!"

The word "bamboo" is repeated 7 times, the short sentence describes the fighting atmosphere and resounding victory of our army and people in the 9 years of resistance war against the French.

This is one of the most magnificent passages, with an epic tone in modern Vietnamese prose. The historical atmosphere of the era, the miraculous victory of Dien Bien Phu brought out the power of Thep Moi's pen.

The music of bamboo is the music of the countryside. The music of the village bamboo "shakes wildly" in the "southern wind". It is the bamboo kite, the bamboo flute, the bamboo flute in the vast sky. The prose passage rich in music and poetry gives us many emotions and impressions of the Vietnamese soul, very optimistic and loving life:

"Kites fly, bamboo leaf kites fly in the sky.

Bamboo flute, bamboo flute echoes in the sky.

The wind carries the flute, the wind lifts the kite.

The sky is high and vast, the fields are vast, please listen.

listen to the singing of bamboo in the sky.".

In addition, Preparing the lesson The Blind Men and the Elephant is an important lesson in the 6th grade Literature program that students need to pay special attention to.
