Why can iPhone X become Apple's silly tech joke?
Many people who wish for iPhone X are also those who have been waiting for Google Glass. As for most of us, iPhone X is probably just an example of a high-tech joke.
There are also certain people who are happy to spend $ 999 (or $ 1,149 for the 256GB version, all are pre-tax prices) to buy the iPhone X when it launches on November 3. Calling them early adopters is also enough. Their desire to use the latest things is so great that they overcome all concerns about price or security. It erases all worries about face recognition, glass on the back of the phone, all doubting whether you need a Super Retina screen or just using the animoji for a few days is boring.
Many people who wish for iPhone X are also those who have been waiting for Google Glass. As for most of us, iPhone X is probably just an example of a high-tech joke.
Why? At this mobile price, you can get a new Apple laptop, MacBook Air. For $ 999, the memory will be doubled (the basic iPhone X is 64GB, and the Air is 128GB). For about $ 1000, you get 64GB on the most modern phone. For an additional $ 150, you get a 256GB laptop: a lot more than most people need. There is no iPhone X 128GB.
Face detection technology scans your face all the time to securely lock the phone and doesn't need to press the button to open it. A problem no one cares about. Face scanning is also nothing new. Amazon's Fire Phone has 4 camera faces scanned in 2014. It can create 3D stereoscopic images because they always know where your eyes are.
It turns out this technology is not necessary at all. There are even people who compare this technology like setting a password as a 'password' and then tattooing it on the forehead.
Many questions about face recognition technology are in place
Apple's Marketing Manager Phil Schiller tries to calm people when he claims only 1 in 1 million people have the same face. It sounds safe until you realize that in the United States, at least 323 people can imitate you.
Face scanning has quickly become a topic on social networks. When concerned about the authorities interfering with the rising digital data, the idea that the police just need to raise the phone in front of you to unlock it cannot be more frightening. (In theory, it can be reset by pressing the phone 5 times but who can do it when stressed?)
In addition, the fear of this technology did not work high when Vice President Craig Federighi could not unlock his iPhone X at the introductory event on Tuesday.
Emoji moving by face seems attractive to some people but it is very scary. What kind of surprise to hear your words comes from a feces? Then the novelty soon faded, especially if only you had iPhone X and friends and relatives did not.
We never know how many customers have been "discouraged" by Apple's technology jokes. They did not disclose the Apple Watch revenue or the iPhone series. If iPhone X sales are disappointing, they will also hide that fact and continue to step forward.
If you still decide to buy this new generation phone, good luck. But remember that being a pioneer is not always as grandiose as rumored.
