The number of newly emerging viruses reached a record number

According to the BKIS Center, in October, the number of infected computers in Vietnam reached a record number - 3,799,000. The number of new viruses that appeared in the month of 1,014 viruses is also a new record. The number of websites found a serious vulnerability of 38, 22 websites were attacked by hackers.

GameOnline virus comes from China

Over the past few months, thousands of variations of the GameOnline virus family have appeared in Vietnam. BKIS investigated the origin of these viruses, the results show that they all came from China. GameOnline virus specializes in attacking online Game software to steal password and account information of gamers, then secretly send to various servers in China.

In October alone, there were 457 GameOnline virus variants spreading in Vietnam. Not only are the numbers mutant, these viruses also constantly change the way they spread infection to spread more and more dangerous than before. They not only spread through malicious websites or crack software, but also via USB and LAN.

According to BKIS virus monitoring system, more than 422,000 computers have been infected with GameOnline virus variants. This situation has created a huge gap for network security in Vietnam. Virus spreaders just need to fix a little code so that instead of just taking the password of the gamer, the virus can steal other information on the computer or destroy the data, the consequences will be incalculable.

Many universities' websites have vulnerabilities

In October, Network Security Center Bkis sent a warning about website vulnerability to 6 universities in Vietnam. According to the assessment, these are all high-level vulnerabilities. With the above holes, hackers can take advantage to steal the database, take control of the website and servers of these universities.

The website system of universities often has many services, diverse users, but the investment for the management team is inadequate. With such a thin team, network administrators can hardly control all the services on their systems, leading to many dangerous vulnerabilities.
