The first netbook integrates GPU support for HD video playback

With Nvidia ION's next-generation GPU, ION 2, the Aspire One 532G can play smoothly 720p HD video.

Netbook has taken a new level in the world of HD standard video with the Acer Aspire One 532G. This is the model announced by Acer in a press release coinciding with the time it appeared at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. According to the manufacturer, this is the world's first netbook equipped with the next generation of graphics platform Nividia ION (GPU ION 2).

With the new hardware power, the Aspire One 532G is capable of playing 720p HD video right on a 10.1-inch screen or connecting to an external HD-enabled TV via HDMI with Full HD 1080p resolution .

The Aspire One 532G is equipped with an Intel Atom N450 processor containing an integrated controller for DDR2 RAM and GMA 3150 GPU. With this package integration, the Atom N450 processor has power consumption only. The 5.5 W helps extend the battery life of netbooks by up to 10 hours continuously.

Intel Atom N450 is highly appreciated for its ability to handle good basic multitasking and is really effective for netbook buyers. But in order to be able to deliver smooth HD video, Acer has improved the processing power of 532G by integrating it into the Nvidia ION 2 GPU.

In addition to the above features, the Aspire One 532G is also equipped with 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 320GB hard drive. The machine weighs only about 1 kg and has a thickness of about 2.5 cm.

The Aspire One 532G will be available by the end of the first quarter of this year, but there is no information about the price of this product.
